America - DocuMaster
Several years ago we invested in a AutoCreaser 33 after seeing it at a trade show..
Because we utilize both HP (Indigo) and Xerox digital printers, the Autocreaser became a highly valued solution to the challenges associated with our digital printing.
We began tracking the news at Morgana to see if any new products were being introduced.
When we heard about the Digifold, we began contacting Alan Oppenheim, the Morgana Country Manager to purchase one, even before Corporate Binding Solutions was chosen as our local distributor to distribute the Morgana products. I was interested in trading in the Autocreaser, but my production manager refused to trade it in because of how essential it is to our digital print finishing. Once the distributorship was granted to Corporate Binding Solutions, we ordered the first Digifold in Atlanta.
On one of the follow-up visits, Jim Long from Corporate Binding told me about the Documaster, which was still in development. I was very interested and began to check in every month to see the progress. After making several trips to Graphic shows, then sending some HP Indigo printed samples bound on a Documaster, we placed our order. With a couple of follow-up visits and adjustments, we now call only to order staples. We did order the corner staple upgrade, which we highly recommend as a value added upgrade.
It should be known that we had an older booklet maker that was scuffing up the digitally printed stocks. Even though it was a substantially more expensive and was faster than the new Documaster, because of the way it damaged the booklets, how many it produced was irrelevant since the finished product was unacceptable. The square back option gave our designers and clients another "palate" to print on. This gives our clients a competitive advantage on their marketing pieces. Because of our familiarity with the AutoCreaser and Digifold, training was easy on the Documaster. It has become a key part of our digital finishing strategy.
